Seasonal Round Up - Summer 2019

Hello! Hello! Is this thing still working? 

Let me just clear off a few of these cobwebs... 

Wow! It's been such a long time since I've written a blog post! 

Over the summer I decided it was about time I got back into the blogging habit. I used to enjoy it years ago and miss having deadlines to keep me on track. So I've blocked out a little time, figured out a few things I'd like to say, and I guess there's no point in procrastinating any longer... Here we go! 

First, I thought I'd ease myself in slowly with a quick little round up of what I've been up to over the summer (...I might have been on a social media break, but I most definitely have not been idle!)

The main project I've been working on is a brand new design of fun, novelty cards that (all being well) will launch on Monday 9th September. They're a bit different to my usual style, and are both a card and a fun little craft activity for the recipient all rolled in to one! To start with, there will be five designs available - Birthday, Wedding, Thank You, New Home, and Congratulations - and if they prove popular I'll start working on more. I've had so much fun working on these and can't wait to launch them in all my stores, so keep an eye on my Instagram for some sneaky peaks ...and maybe even a little discount code when they launch!

As well as the brand new card series, I've been working on new additions to my signature Kraft card range. Some of them won't be ready to reveal till the new year, but there are one or two you can expect to pop up in the next couple of months. (And I've also been working on new birthday designs for my Thortful store too.)

As far as personal projects go, when I've had a little time to myself I've been slowly and steadily working through some online art and Illustration courses, designing submissions for some contest and call outs that have caught my eye, and I've been starting to build up a portfolio of illustration and pattern design too. On top of all that, I've been working on a home renovation and trying to stop the garden from getting completely overgrown (side note: the plant growth this summer has been incredible! If you like gardening pop over to my Instagram feed where I'll be posting more plant and flower photos as I get back into social media again.)

So it's been busy these last few months, and the next few leading up to Christmas (yep, I said it) look to hold more of the same! I plan to get back into blogging more regularly, post steadily to Instagram, add new listings to my online stores more often, and update the website in a few key areas. I've even worked out a schedule for it all, and damn it, this time I plan to stick to it! To keep me on track, I'll do another little seasonal round up at the end of Autumn and we'll see how well I've been able to do then.
